Has deletion been though of for DIX? If anyone has started on it I would like to help out. If not I think i might work on it. Anyone want to help as well?

You mean a feature to delete files?
There's a menu item in the context menu and in the main menu to move files to the trash (they will be delete if they reside on a network volume).
